About The Position

Augusta Industrial Services, Inc. (AIS) is growing, and we’re looking for a Safety & Compliance Coordinator who is organized, analytical, hands-on, and ready to make an impact. This role will work alongside the Operational Excellence Manager and the SHE Manager to help keep our employees, facilities, equipment, vehicles, and processes safe and compliant. The position combines field involvement, auditing, investigations, regulatory compliance, and documentation, so no two days look exactly the same.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and across multiple departments.
  • Comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with hands-on field activities.
  • Ability to learn and apply safety, environmental, DOT, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial, safety, environmental, DOT, fleet, auditing, or regulatory compliance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage safety incident logs, investigations, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Participating in management system audits.
  • Support respiratory protection program, including fit testing, maintenance, calibration, and records.
  • Manage inspections and records for fall protection, gas detection, and other safety equipment.
  • Conduct facility, equipment, chemical, and general safety compliance audits.
  • Manage Safety Data Sheets and conduct chemical inventory audits.
  • Support occupational health recordkeeping and required employee testing.
  • Conduct SPCCP, used-oil, and environmental compliance audits and reporting.
  • Maintain Driver Qualification Files and support DOT drug and alcohol compliance.
  • Review driver performance and conduct DVIR and vehicle compliance audits.
  • Assist with hands-on MEWP, Confined Space, and Road Test training as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement and other safety and compliance initiatives.
