About The Position

Suburban Drywall is seeking a Safety Assistant for our Waukesha Location. The Safety Assistant will assist the Safety Director in establishing reliable methods to improve safety performance and create a safe environment for all employees.

Requirements

• Experience in construction or a safety-related role
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, or use ladders
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds as needed for safety equipment handling
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must possess or go through OSHA 30 construction certification class

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of how to erect scaffolding (will train)
• Must be fine working at different heights
• First Aid, CPR & AED certifications preferred or willing to become certified

Responsibilities

• Enforces all jobsite safety requirements
• Help maintain inventory of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety materials
• Travel to job sites to assist with field safety inspections
• Serve as an additional point of contact for safety-related questions from employees and subcontractors.
• Help with maintaining scaffold inventory and other equipment at Waukesha location
• Deliver and pick up scaffolding for jobs
• Assist with monthly safety meetings at both locations
