Requirements

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communicational skills (written & verbal);
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office;
  • Good understanding of Employment Standards Act & Occupational Health and Safety Act;
  • Intrinsic ability to effectively analyze, plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines;
  • Previous work experience, with a focus on training for entry level Safety related position;
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving abstract;
  • Acceptable security and criminal record check.

Nice To Haves

  • Multilingual ability considered an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in business administration, management, human resources management, or a related field, is an asset;

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Manager, Safety & Training with the development and implementation of safety programs and plans;
  • Provide training to team members regarding federal and/or provincial health & safety practices and regulations;
  • Provide feedback and potential solutions to Manager, Safety and Training on claims results, and injury trends;
  • Monitor MCR reporting for Ontario locations and offices;
  • Administer MCR training to new and existing site leadership and administrators;
  • Work with sites and locations to support reoccurring MCR/OHS requirements through feedback and ongoing one on one training;
  • Analyze and monitor Ontario COR standards to ensure standards are in place.
  • Provide MyBest portal support though set ups, training, and uploads;
  • Formal Hazard completion;
  • Develop Emergency Action Plan(s);
  • Provide training and support for Injury Management Processes;
  • Provide training and support for Root Cause Analysis tool.
  • Develop and distribute the weekly toolbox safety topics;
  • Updates and adjustments of Formal Hazard(s);
  • Updates and adjustments of Emergency Action Plan(s) for sites and locations;
  • Support and monitor Ontario (WSIB) claims management through partnership with Teksmed and site leadership;
  • Support and monitor Ontario (WSIB) claim investigations to ensure on time compliance, root cause identification and completion of corrective actions;
  • Regular site visits to observe safety programs compliance and analyze injury trends to provide feedback and pro-active solutions;
  • Other duties as required to support business growth.
