About The Position

This role supports the day-to-day Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs for the Coating Additives and Catalysts plants in Calvert City, KY, with primary responsibility as the site’s Contractor Management and Site Security Officer. The position requires strong computer skills to manage systems, including Accountability Systems, ESTER, and SDSOnline, as well as develop procedures and training materials. A solid environmental and safety background is essential, as the role actively supports site EHS programs and provides backup coverage for the Shift Safety Officer role and construction gate, as needed. In addition to supporting Evonik, the position also supports site tenants Wacker and Sekisui.

Requirements

  • Strong computer skills including spreadsheets, SharePoint sites, Word documents, and PowerPoint presentations
  • Technical IT skills required to support systems such as Accountability Systems, SDSOnline, and OnSolve

Nice To Haves

  • Safety degree is a plus
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification/experience
  • Firefighter certification/experience

Responsibilities

  • Corporate Site Security Officer responsible for the overall site security program, including reviewing security rounds and developing the overall site security concept, including DOT and IT security. Responsible for plant camera systems.
  • Supports Evonik, Sekisui, Wacker, and all contractors related to the accountability system, including issuing badges, granting access, and troubleshooting the system for approximately 120 Evonik employees, 200 tenants, and over 400 contractors/visitors.
  • Develop procedures and training materials and utilize the ESTER MOC system to communicate changes locally and regionally.
  • Utilize the ESTER Management System to complete tasks and generate reports related to Incident Management, Non-Conformances, and Compliance Tracking.
  • Enter and review SDSs for Evonik.
  • Audit and review the Contractor Management program to ensure the site remains compliant with Evonik standards, including reviewing Tier Agreements, managing the Avetta system, training contractors, updating contractor training records in the accountability system, conducting quarterly contractor audits, and inspecting contractor areas.
  • Conduct weekly waste pad inspections and monthly spill kit inspections to ensure site compliance.
  • Provide backup support for other positions, as needed.
