About The Position

The Safety Analyst position ensures the facility maintains compliance with all applicable Health and Safety regulations, and internal Timken Policies. And is also responsible for improving OSHA Recordable and Lost Time injury rates below the established KPIs.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in one of these fields of study: Environmental / Safety, Business, or Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years work experience as a Safety Analyst or in an EHS related field.
  • Experience with: OSHA Regulations / Work Case Mgt / Behavior Based Safety Programs / Fall Protection Competent Person certified / ISO 45001.
  • Timken Safety Analyst Certification: within 6 months of employment date.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years work experience as a Safety Analyst or EHS related field.
  • OSHA 10 & 30 Hour Certifications.
  • First Aid / CPR / AED Certified.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with wide variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of computers and Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and manage an effective Health and Safety Management System that establishes a proactive approach to preventing occupational injuries and illnesses, and reducing ergonomic risks.
  • Integrate elements of newly published ISO 45001 with Timken H&S Management System.
  • Leadership and promotion of safe behaviors and conditions – Leadership of plant Safety Team; manage deep-dive; improve quality of behavior observations in the BBS Program; coach employees to follow precautions; and use Timken Problem Solving tools to analyze data drive system changes.
  • Reduce risk – complete Job Based Risk and Ergonomic Assessments for high priority areas. Further engage operative employees, manufacturing advancement, and plant engineers in ergo improvement process.
  • Maintain compliance with all Health & Safety applicable laws and regulations (Confined Space, Electrical Safety, HazCom/RTK, Arc Flash, Hot Work, Powered Industrial Vehicles, Industrial Hygiene, Fall Protection, LO/TO, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Safety, Ergonomics, PPE, Asbestos Management Plan, Respirator Protection) and internal standards.
  • Management of Chemical Management Program - verifying existing and approving new chemicals per the Timken Approved Chemical list. Identify higher risk chemicals and investigate less hazardous alternatives through continuous improvement/ cost savings projects.
  • Development of authorized employee Safety Programs and periodic training for Maintenance and Facilities employees.
  • New employee Onboarding General Awareness ESH training: Development and maintain training curriculum in compliance with regulatory and internal Timken standards. Conduct Day-1 onboarding training weekly based on hiring plan.
  • Develop and maintain Timken University training ESH training curriculums including all employee periodic training records.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and ensure employee safety in the ISO System.
  • Coordinate vendors and contractors for plant safety improvement projects.
