About The Position
Care for our community, and your career. This position requires a high school level of knowledge. Behavior Management training is required within 6 months of hire. BLS certification is required or must be obtained within 3 months of hire/transfer. A minimum of one year of experience working with persons suffering from mental illness, alcoholism, or substance abuse is preferred. The role involves observing confidentiality regarding protected health information. Demonstrates positive communication, possesses tact, discretion, diplomacy, and teamwork skills. Supports the decisions of the treatment team. Requires the ability to work under stress, write legibly, and document accurately. Must be able to communicate patient observations to licensed and professional staff. Possesses good organizational, priority setting, and communication skills. Must be self-motivated, observant, conscious of safety concerns in the immediate environment, and alert to small changes in behavior. Ability to recognize and intervene in potentially violent situations. Must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate and interact in a method appropriate for the age group to which the service is provided. Ability to move and lift supplies up to 75 pounds and to safely move and transport patients using safe handling equipment.
