About The Position

OCL Group Inc. is a 100% Canadian owned and operated, employee-owned, fully integrated general contractor with design-build solutions across Western Canada, serving the energy and municipal infrastructure markets since 2009. Founded on the principles of "People" and "Doing the Job Right", OCL is currently recruiting a detail-oriented, computer-savvy Safety Administrator to support their HSE department on multiple projects on a temporary basis. This position will be based out of the Edmonton Head Office.

Requirements

  • 1 –3 years of experience in a safety administrator role preferably working for a heavy civil or industrial construction company.
  • Excellent computer skills. Prior experience with Google Sheets, Docs, Drive, Calendar, Gmail, etc. is highly sought after.
  • Looking for a self-motivated individual that requires minimal supervision.
  • Must be extremely detail oriented.
  • Able to prioritize assignments and work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Class 5 driver’s license with reliable transportation.
  • Steel toe boots required.
  • Ability to travel and work on site as required.
  • Can pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as required to access sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation is considered an asset.
  • Working towards an NCSO designation is considered an asset.
  • Post secondary education in Health and Safety is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Bis Trainer is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support and assistance to the Regional Safety Leads and Health and Safety Manager.
  • Ensure all safety certification and documentation is completed and up to date for all employees.
  • Filing and organization of all Health and Safety paperwork.
  • Responsible for data entry and maintenance of various related databases.
  • Maintain workplace first aid boxes, fire extinguishers, training logs etc.
  • Ensure employees attend all applicable safety training.
  • Facilitate modified and return to work programs for injured employees.
  • Participate in the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of the Safety Management System.
  • Assist with the creation and updating of company policies and safety documentation.
