About The Position

The Safety/Administrative Specialist is a professional who will create value for the company by partnering with the management team to promote a cohesive and safe working environment. This individual will serve as a representative to the Lakeview, Oregon location, providing knowledge and support to employees of the business unit in both safety and administrative functions.

  • High level of personal integrity and ethical and professional standards.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, business, or a related field. Equivalent experience accepted.
  • Previous administrative experience required.
  • OSHA 10 preferred or required within the first six months.
  • Individuals must be willing to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Positions may require additional PPE at specific times. Examples of PPE which may be required include high visibility garments, hand protection, eye protection, hearing protection, a hard hat, foot protection, a face shield, and a respirator.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and develop positive employee relations by providing direct support to all employees.
  • Assist with the business unit’s safety program to include workers’ compensation claims, safety committee, training, safety audits, and other as needed.
  • Responsible for safety orientation for new hires.
  • Conduct incident/accident investigations as needed in regard to violations of company policy.
  • Responsible for scheduling interviews on behalf of the corporate HR team and local management.
  • Responsible for ensuring hourly payroll records are input and processed accurately in coordination with the payroll specialist.
  • Responsible for new hire and benefit orientation for all staff.
  • Support new hires with inputting beneficiary information as needed.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding of all hourly and salaried staff as directed by corporate HR.
  • Assist employees with filing for state and federal protective leave laws by providing them with company resource information.
  • Partner with the HR and Safety team on local initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
  • On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.
