About The Position

The Safety Administrative Assistant will support the company's safety culture and assist multiple regions with various safety-related duties. Included focus is safety recordkeeping and reporting. This position will work with Regional Safety Managers regarding incidents, policies, procedures, and reports. Established in 1891, The L.E. Myers Co. (L.E. Requirements

  • 2 or more years of experience in an office setting; preferably in commercial electrical operations, transmission/distribution operations, or general construction operations
  • Practical administrative experience
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to interface with and provide general project support to operations and safety professionals
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-directed and ability to think logically
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of personnel
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work self-sufficiently on assigned tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred - but not required

Responsibilities

  • Compile, maintain and manage internal safety department electronic files on servers
  • Obtain and manage pre-qualification requests as required by client using 3rd party sites
  • Provide reports as requested to management, customers, and internal staff
  • Assist with general administrative duties as assigned
  • Ordering safety supplies, books, and other materials
  • Assist with management of the corporate cell phone account
  • Enter Training (LMS) & Incidents (IMS) into our internal systems
  • Review incident entries regularly to ensure forms are complete
  • Update and maintain department organization charts and other safety resources
  • Work as a liaison with insurance carrier and districts office contacts regarding claims
  • Assist Safety Specialist with incident case management
  • Regular attendance
  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a company designated office
  • Understand and comply with the company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry specific professional and ethical conduct standards
