About The Position

Rossmoor Pet Hospital is seeking a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician or experienced non-credentialed Veterinary Assistant/Technician to join its fast-paced, compassionate team. The hospital provides wellness, surgical, and emergency care seven days a week and offers opportunities for professional growth. The role provides patient and clinical support, assists with veterinary procedures, performs basic medical and diagnostic tasks, communicates with clients, and helps maintain clinic operations. The position is in person and requires availability on weekdays or weekends.

Requirements

Compassionate, dedicated, and detail-oriented attitude.
Willingness to be cross-trained for a client service representative (CSR) role.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and interact well with clients and their pets.
Availability to work weekdays or weekends.
Knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy.
Strong experience in animal care, including animal handling and kennel management.
Physical ability to stand for long periods, perform regular physical tasks, and safely lift 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Previous veterinary experience is preferred; the employer is willing to train the right person.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians with examinations, procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and surgery.
Perform basic medical procedures, including placing IV catheters, drawing blood or collecting laboratory samples, and dental scaling.
Administer medications and monitor patients; manage patient feeding and handling.
Process laboratory samples and perform or assist with digital radiography and ultrasound.
Greet visitors, answer calls, schedule appointments, and educate pet owners about preventative care and treatment plans.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in kennels, exam rooms, and the laboratory.
Ensure patient records are accurate.
