About The Position

Ameritas is seeking a Regional Vice President (RVP), Sales and Distribution to lead and manage the sustainable and profitable growth of the Region within Ameritas’ Agency and Advisor distribution channel; specially covering the states of Michigan, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, South and North Dakota. As RVP you will be responsible for the oversight and overall performance of the region, including the recruiting, selection and development of new agencies, and execution of business strategies with existing agencies in the region that will exceed growth and revenue objectives. You will be accountable implementing sales and business strategies to drive increased life insurance, disability insurance, annuity, and investment sales. This position is critical in driving top line revenue growth through new agency acquisition and existing agency management/growth. At Ameritas, our mission is Fulfilling Life. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 4-7 years of insurance and/or securities sales and sales management experience; with emphasis on consultative sales, recruiting, and agency building required
  • FINRA License (Series 6 or 7 and 65 or 66) required
  • Willingness to travel up to 60-75% of the time

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an Agency System, IMO System, Independent Broker Dealer or RIA preferred
  • CLU-Chartered Life Underwriter, ChFC-Chartered Financial Consultant and/or CFP- Certified Financial Planner preferred

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, select and onboard new General Agencies that align with our future strategies and growth model; Assist General Agents with attracting, recruiting and onboarding new agents and second-line managers within the agency.
  • Develop, implement and execute strategic business plans with assigned relationships that will ensure we exceed our new business sales and revenue, profitability and net growth objectives for the division. Serve as a subject-matter expert and business consultant to General Agents within the region to help agencies achieve their stated growth goals.
  • Partner with key stakeholders of the Life, Disability Income, and Annuity Product Management Teams to meet prescribed annual sales, growth and profitability objectives. Provide relationship management, proper supervision, and appropriate advocacy of all entities in their assigned regions and growing wealth management offerings.
  • Working directly with the appropriate functional support management, remove barriers, escalate and resolve systemic issues related to functional support that impede new sales, agency/agent on boarding, retention, and/or issues related to functional support. Assume ownership of the issue from inception to satisfactory outcome and resolution.
  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholder areas to ensure the right tools and resources are provided to foster the greatest return on investment. This includes field training on selling skills, selling systems/tools, product information, needs analysis and assessment, marketing, compliance and technology.
  • Prepare sales forecasts and reports for assigned regions/territories.
  • Actively participate in weekly regional calls to discuss cases, share sales ideas, discuss trends, recruiting goals, and business plans.
  • Works with underwriting to negotiate the offer on cases when intervention is required.

  • The compensation for this role includes a $120,000 base salary, with variable compensation ranging from $80,000 to $200,000+ based on the achievement and exceeding of performance goals and targets.
