The fab2 team is building the software that silicon chip designers should have had 20 years ago. They are creating a fast, browser-based, multiplayer platform called Studio for designing and assembling whole chips, aiming to provide a seamless experience from idea to finished design without requiring users to install anything or leave the app. This includes schematic capture, physical layout, and simulation all in one place. Studio is part of a larger initiative at Fab2 to accelerate the entire chip design and fabrication cycle by building custom software and hardware components. The role involves working on the application itself, with a focus on Rust across the entire stack, compiled to WebAssembly, and utilizing custom rendering with wgpu/WebGPU for both native and browser environments.
