About The Position

The Rural Engagement Volunteers connects with voters in rural areas who may feel politically isolated or underrepresented. This position will help them feel heard, empowered, and supported in their values and civic participation. Your work will help build trust, foster connection, and ensure that every person—regardless of location or political climate—feels like they have a place and a voice in shaping the future of their community and country.

Requirements

• A strong communicator and active listener with empathy and cultural sensitivity.
• Passionate about political empowerment and democracy.
• Comfortable working in rural or politically mixed environments.
• Organized, dependable, and proactive.
• Able to navigate political conversations respectfully and thoughtfully.

Nice To Haves

• Previous organizing, community engagement, or volunteer experience are a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with individuals and community groups in rural areas.
• Engage in active listening to understand the concerns and experiences of politically underrepresented residents.
• Assist with organizing and promoting community events, listening sessions, and voter outreach initiatives.
• Support voter registration, education, and turnout efforts tailored to rural communities.
• Collaborate with local leaders and partners to amplify voices from the community.
• Serve as a positive, nonjudgmental presence encouraging civic participation and open dialogue.
• Share insights with the broader team to inform strategy and messaging.
