About The Position
Strategic Workforce Development is helping the United States Postal Service hire Rural Carrier Associates for post offices in Kansas City, Missouri. This is a part-time, non-career position that may lead to a full-time career position. The pay is $21.89 per hour. Hours vary, include holidays and weekends, and are not guaranteed; schedules may change with little notice. Benefits may include health insurance. Rural Carrier Associates case, deliver, and collect mail along a set rural route using a vehicle; provide customers along the route with postal services; keep mail secure; and follow safe work methods. The work takes place indoors and outdoors in all weather. A vehicle may be assigned; if not, the employee may need to provide one, with an Equipment Maintenance Allowance paid.
Requirements
- A valid state driver's license and a safe driving record.
- At least two years of unsupervised experience driving passenger cars or larger in the United States, its territories, or U.S. military installations.
- Ability to deliver from the right-hand side of the vehicle.
- Physical ability to lift moderate to heavy loads, carry, stand, reach, and walk for long periods.
Responsibilities
- Case, deliver, and collect mail along a set rural route using a vehicle.
- Provide customers on the route with a variety of postal services.
- Keep the mail secure at all times and follow safe work methods.
