About The Position

At Cadence, the Digital Implementation Field Applications Engineer (AE) works side-by-side with leading-edge customers to deploy Cadence technologies in synthesis, place and route, and signoff. The role helps customers meet or exceed power, performance, and area (PPA) targets, achieve faster design closure, and turn design concepts into reality. The position also works directly with Cadence R&D to communicate customer requirements and influence the direction of next-generation products and technologies.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of hands-on industry experience in digital design and static timing analysis.
• Prior experience with IC digital implementation flows, including synthesis, place and route, IR drop, and timing signoff.
• Experience with Cadence tools such as Genus, Innovus, Conformal, Tempus, Modus, and Voltus, or with ICC, ICC2, DC, FC, and PrimeTime.
• Experience with advanced nodes at 5 nm and below.
• Expertise in scripting languages such as Tcl, Perl, Python, or shell.
• Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal, written, and customer communication skills.
• BS degree or higher in Computer or Electrical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Explore and deploy the latest PPA methodologies and flows on next-generation customer designs.
• Drive technical evaluations and benchmarks to success.
• Provide technical support to Cadence customers in backend digital design implementation and signoff.
• Guide customers in using Cadence technologies to achieve design goals and meet project schedules.
• Work closely with R&D to enhance tools and methodologies to meet and exceed customer requirements.
• Drive adoption and proliferation of Cadence tools and technologies.
• Translate customer requirements into tool solutions in collaboration with R&D.
