About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (“SEL”) is seeking professional, innovative, and detailed individuals for the RTL/FPGA Software Engineer position at its headquarters in Pullman, Washington. This role offers an opportunity to collaborate with industry experts and contribute to the development of cutting-edge products. The RTL/FPGA Software Engineer is responsible for developing product specifications, designing, implementing, and documenting programmable logic designs essential for hardware product development of SEL's software and firmware products.

Requirements

• Apply the principles of electrical and computer engineering

Responsibilities

• Engage in FPGA design, simulation, and verification with VHDL
• Analyze, design, and develop digital circuits to meet specifications
• Demonstrate and document product and circuit robustness using computer simulations, conventional analysis, and standard testing methodologies
• Ensure that designs meet applicable regulatory requirements
• Write and review test plans, conduct design tests, and evaluate test results
• Prepare and maintain product documentation, including data sheets, instruction manuals, and design and test documentation
• Provide and maintain accurate product material cost estimates, labor estimates and project plans
• Participate in industry technical meetings and conferences as required to meet operational and strategic goals
• Undertake to improve SEL’s research and development processes
