RT Technician Level II
About The Position
The RT Technician Level II performs radiographic testing and other non-destructive testing (NDT) work, including inspections, real-time interpretation of readings, evaluation of results, and formal reporting. The position is expected to be familiar with the scope and methods of NDT being used and may train and guide Assistant Technicians, assist with crew quality assurance and quality control, and provide customer interface. The role is full-time and based in Long Beach, California, with national travel required up to 35% of the time. The stated pay range is USD $37–$40 per hour.
Requirements
- Level 2 RT certification with NAS 410.
- Experience with x-ray cabinets.
- Familiarity with the scope and methods of the NDT being used.
- Ability to travel nationally when required, up to 35% of the time.
- Ability to work overtime during the week and on weekends as workload requires.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor conditions, including temperature extremes and inclement weather, and frequently use personal protective equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate tools and equipment to complete job assignments and meet client requirements.
- Inspect and interpret readings in real time to determine areas of interest.
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications.
- Set up and calibrate equipment; interpret, evaluate, and document results through formal reports.
- Complete reports promptly in accordance with client, company, and applicable standards.
- Safely operate company vehicles and follow company safety regulations.
- Direct, mentor, and train personnel in methods for which the employee is certified and capable.
- Provide direction and guidance on codes, standards, and contractual documents governing the method used by the company and client.
- Submit required paperwork promptly, including safety forms, company and customer forms, and timesheets.
- Assist with inspection completion, initial interpretation, reporting, and billing.
- Assist with quality assurance and quality control for crews on the same assignment or location and provide customer interface when needed.
