RT Technician Level II
About The Position
The RT Technician Level II is responsible for completing inspections, including initial interpretation, reporting, and billing. The technician is thoroughly familiar with the scope and methods of the nondestructive testing (NDT) being used and may be responsible for on-the-job training and guidance of Assistant Technicians. The role also assists with quality assurance and quality control of crews on the same assignment or location and may provide customer interface for those crews. The position is full time and based in Long Beach, California. It requires Level 2 RT certification with film interpretation. The stated pay range is $37–$40 per hour. National travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
Requirements
- Level 2 RT certification with film interpretation.
- Thorough familiarity with the scope and methods of the NDT being used.
- Ability to work in applicable testing methods and provide training and guidance in methods for which certified and capable.
- Ability to travel nationally when required, up to 25% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Operate tools and equipment to complete job assignments and meet client requirements.
- Inspect and interpret readings in real time to determine areas of interest.
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications.
- Set up and calibrate equipment; interpret, evaluate, and document results in formal reports.
- Complete reports promptly in accordance with client, company, and applicable standards.
- Safely operate company vehicles and comply with company safety regulations.
- Direct, mentor, and train personnel in methods for which the technician is certified and capable.
- Provide direction and guidance on codes, standards, and contractual documents governing the method used by the company and client.
- Submit safety forms, company-required forms, customer forms, timesheets, and other paperwork on time.
- Assist with quality assurance and quality control of crews on the same work assignment or at the same location.
- May provide customer interface for crews on the same work assignment or at the same location.
- Complete inspections, including initial interpretation, reporting, and billing.
