About The Position

Mistras Group is seeking a full-time Level II RT Technician for its Auburn, Massachusetts location. The technician performs nondestructive testing (NDT) operations and evaluates results for routine NDT methods in which they are qualified under Mistras Services written practices. The role inspects piping, tanks, and vessels using radiography, including inspections in a fabrication shop laydown yard.

The technician sets up and calibrates equipment, interprets and evaluates results against applicable codes, standards, specifications, and customer procedures, and organizes and reports NDT findings. The role also includes running and grading film, training and guiding assistants and trainees, and evaluating data for disposition. Frequent lifting of up to 30 pounds is required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to generate technical data orally, in writing, and electronically as required and appropriate.
• At least 12 months of prior NDT experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform piping and vessel inspections in a laydown yard (fabrication shop) using radiography and report findings.
• Train RT assistants, run film, and grade film according to customer-directed procedures.
• Set up and calibrate equipment; interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
• Understand the scope and limitations of qualified methods and provide assigned on-the-job training and guidance to trainees and NDT Level I personnel.
• Organize and report NDT test results.
• Generate and organize NDT data, report findings, and evaluate data for disposition.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
