SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the VP of Sales, this individual is responsible for promoting and selling the products and capabilities of LAPP North America, and the overall results of his/her assigned region and the professional development of the Sales personnel. Primary activities in this role are the coordination, evaluation, and supervisory responsibilities of their team while executing the directed sales process.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or university (preferred) or technical qualification or similar in engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have demonstrated working experience selling Harnessing services, Industrial Data cables and/or Industrial Data Connectors products and their application.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Proficient in the English language.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts, financial ratios, and business equations.
  • Possess strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have knowledge of Lotus Notes and internet software.
  • Frequent travel by car or air is expected, as well as overnight trips.
  • A valid driver’s license and passport is expected to be maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the professional development and support of his/her sales personnel including the development of strategic goals and holding those accountable for achieving those goals.
  • Establish and support specification print position of all LAPP products at OSM, Projects (owners, engineers, and contractors), regional and national distribution partners, global and national key accounts and various other organizations and projects.
  • Support key LAPP projects and initiatives for market research, development and growth development on a regional and national scale.
  • Personally maximize sales in the assigned region, as well as define, develop, measure and achieve objectives that are in line with the goals and objectives of the LAPP.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales on strategic issues, including pricing, product offerings, promotions and projects.
  • Respond to customer-driven needs to meet price and service competitively while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Document work schedule in the CRM database and update the LAPP North America CRM database on sales calls weekly.
  • Develop positive working relationship with all LAPP colleagues and participate in trade shows and overnight travel as required.
  • Effective use of sales tools and LAPP promotional items such as product samples and catalogues.
  • Responsible for meeting monthly and annual sales targets, developing the pool of potential and buying customers and their decision influencers.
  • Directly manages District Sales Managers, OEM Sales Managers, and Field Sales. This role is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
