About The Position

As the world's largest manufacturer of fire equipment, we make sure our vehicles, production teams, and service personnel are ready to do what is necessary to keep communities safe. The Pre-Finisher installs all door sills, rub rails, fenderettes, roll up doors, steps, running boards, and tail board. They will be required to fabricate intermediate steps and other fabrication needed. As a Pre-Finisher, they will bend and cut sheets of metal as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required.
• 1 year of experience using a shear and break press.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields.
• Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
• Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and tape measure.

Nice To Haves

• Welding Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Installs all door sills, rub rails, fenderettes, roll up doors, steps, running boards, and tail board.
• Fabricates intermediate steps and other fabrication needed.
• Bends and cuts sheets of metal as needed.
• Measures and cuts out flat doors for each truck's specifications.
• Welds to complete the fabrication process as needed.
• Utilizes basic hand tools, shear, and brake press.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor to meet the needs of the department.
