About The Position

The Finish Assembler I is responsible for the installation of basic final parts on fire apparatus as called for in the specifications. They are responsible for fabricating and installing the finished products of the fire trucks, such as mud flaps, shelving, slide trays, hose bed dividers, etc. in a timely manner while keeping quality standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
• Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.

Nice To Haves

• 6 months of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the installation of mud flaps, shelves, slide trays, hose bed dividers, and other final parts.
• Reads and understands specs and blueprints to build fire apparatus.
• Utilizes a variety of basic hand tools to complete the installation of final parts to the fire apparatus.
• Utilizes brake press, plasma cutter, DA sander, and other equipment.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.
