POSITION SUMMARY The Finish Assembler is responsible for the installation of final parts on fire apparatus as called for in the specifications. This position requires the reading and understanding of specs and blueprints to build fire apparatus. A Finish Assembler will use a variety of basic hand tools along with some welding to complete the installation of final parts to the fire apparatus.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
• Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Able to work proficiently with SolidWorks and DriveWorks.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the installation of doors, hose beds, and other various parts to complete the fire apparatus.
• Reads and understands specs and blueprints to build fire apparatus.
• Utilizes a variety of basic hand tools along with some welding to complete the installation of final parts to the fire apparatus
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.
