About The Position

The Roving Operations Manager (or Roving Site Manager) is responsible for supporting daily operations across multiple locations by filling temporary staffing gaps, assisting with new site integrations, and ensuring operational consistency. This role focuses on hands-on execution, team support, and maintaining service and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Detail-oriented with a hands-on operational mindset.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new locations, teams, and challenges.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Customer service orientation with a focus on operational excellence.
  • Basic financial and operational understanding.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • 2–4 years of leadership or operations experience (waste, logistics, transportation preferred).
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently (up to 75%+).

Responsibilities

  • Travel to various sites to support daily operations, especially during staffing shortages or new acquisitions.
  • Ensure continuity of operations, including routing, staffing, and site execution.
  • Maintain quality standards and operational efficiency across all assigned locations.
  • Assist in implementing systems, processes, and company best practices.
  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
  • Support dispatch and routing to ensure all trucks safely complete scheduled routes.
  • Train and mentor site-level employees and supervisors.
  • Identify operational gaps and recommend improvements to leadership.
  • Maintain strong communication with leadership and local teams.
  • Assist with onboarding and transition efforts for new acquisitions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
