About The Position

GreenSpace Recycling is seeking a Route Operations Manager to join their San Jose team and support day-to-day operations across the Bay Area. This is a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground operational leadership role, not a desk-only management position. The Route Operations Manager will work directly with the field team, supporting route coverage, scheduling, accountability, customer communication, and daily operational execution. This hybrid role includes administrative and scheduling responsibilities that may be completed remotely, balanced with daily time in the field supporting team members and customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of general management/ supervisory experience
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proven ability to problem-solve and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Skilled at identifying operational inefficiencies and improving field processes
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on field work with administrative responsibilities
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to foster a positive and accountable team culture
  • Must be comfortable working around trucks, dumpsters, multifamily properties, fast-moving operational issues, and physical outdoor work in a variety of environments and weather conditions.
  • Must be able to travel to Bay Area sites in approximately 30-45 minutes when on-site support is required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily field operations to ensure service quality and efficiency.
  • Supervise, train, and coach operations team members.
  • Coordinate with leadership, field teams, and support staff to meet client expectations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase safety and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT, and OSHA safety standards.
  • Handle escalated client issues and support operational growth and service expansion.
