About The Position

The Rough Finisher is responsible for performing operations and operating all equipment efficiently in the belting, stoning, and gauging of metal castings, defined as turbine components or castings of comparable weight and size (from approximately 5 to 75 pounds). This role requires the ability to comprehend and adhere to established safety and quality procedures and protocols. The position involves arduous and repetitive physical tasks over an 8-10 hour period and requires the ability to handle high stress associated with high activity with tight deadlines.

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment
Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/quantity
Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving
Have strong sense of urgency with the ability to work independently

Responsibilities

Perform operations and operate all equipment efficiently in the belting, stoning, and gauging of metal castings.
Comprehend and adhere to established safety and quality procedures and protocols.
Belt and stone finishing and refinishing of visual indications.
Perform all gauging necessary.
Perform required operations on buffing wheel.
Ensure dimensional integrity of all parts utilizing gauges, micrometers, calipers and dial indicators.
Ensure visual acceptance of castings.
Pass inspection/audits in accordance with customer specifications and company procedures.
May perform other duties as specified by the supervisor.
Records on a daily basis all work performed and correct distribution of work time identifying same by operational codes.
Must follow the number routing card in sequence.
Keeps the work area clean, orderly, and in safe condition, following all safety rules.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors.
Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
