About The Position

The Rough Cut Operator operates and maintains rough-cut machinery, including Waterjet/Combi-Cut equipment and saws, while handling materials and ensuring safety, quality, and order accuracy. The role includes setting up cutting machinery, monitoring its operation, performing quality checks, interpreting blueprint drawings and sketches, and maintaining accurate documentation for material movements, scrap, and quality verification. The operator also performs equipment inspections and preventative maintenance, keeps the work area clean and organized, and operates a forklift and overhead crane. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and as part of a team. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Mechanically inclined; this is preferred.
Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to become certified in forklift and overhead crane operation.
Ability to work safely and follow Standard Operating Procedures.
Basic computer skills.
Basic math skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
High attention to detail.
Reliable and punctual, with direct communication and a sense of urgency in completing work.
Ability to multitask and work well independently and with a team.
Self-motivated.
Ability to work at varying heights, including on building rooftops.
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and push or pull 100 lbs.
Ability to stand for long periods during a shift of up to 10 hours, with intermittent breaks.
Wear company-provided personal protective equipment and participate in daily stretch and flex exercises.

Responsibilities

Operate Waterjet/Combi-Cut machinery and saws, and monitor and verify that the equipment is operating correctly.
Set up and operate cutting machinery.
Perform quality checks as required.
Interpret blueprint drawings and sketches for work planning.
Document and organize material received, moved, scrapped, and quality verified.
Visually inspect equipment, including complex parts, and perform preventative maintenance.
Maintain area upkeep and cleanliness, keeping the work area clean and organized.
Operate an overhead crane and forklift.
Cross-train on multiple types of equipment.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor or Management.
