The Career Advancement Program (CAP) Engineering Rotational Program is a specialized training program for recent or upcoming college graduates seeking a career in the automotive manufacturing industry. Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) is committed to developing future company leaders, and this program provides associates with unique training and a company-wide overview. The program is a direct hire role lasting one year, involving some overtime and weekend work. The first six months focus on rotations through various departments, followed by a second six-month period where CAP members work on projects in an assigned section to gain practical experience in areas such as facility, process, quality, or supply chain engineering. Upon completion, associates will have a comprehensive understanding of how different departments interact and their respective roles. Business acumen is enhanced through hands-on training and presentations to leadership. CAP Engineers report weekly to the Senior Manager of Manufacturing Engineering and other Engineering Managers, who are dedicated to providing effective training and development. Achievements during each rotation are tracked, and departments evaluate CAP Engineers/Professionals at the end of each rotation. After the 12-month program, associates are placed in a section assignment based on company needs, their interests, and skill sets.
