The Rooms Inspector works with our room attendants to ensure the cleanliness of our guests' rooms. This will include inspecting guest rooms.

Requirements

  • Previous hospitality experience is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for extended periods, up to 8 hours a day.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to grasp, bend, and stoop; push or pull heavy loads weighing up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect guest rooms to ensure they meet elevated cleanliness standards and guest satisfaction expectations.
  • Work with and train room attendants to ensure daily tasks are completed promptly, accurately, and in accordance with brand standards.
  • If rooms do not meet quality standards, send room attendants back to correct any issues before releasing the room to guests.
  • Inspect housekeeping carts and closets to ensure they are properly stocked with the supplies needed for cleaning tasks.
  • Coordinate with maintenance to ensure the cleanliness of glass doors and windows in the assigned building.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of hotel hallways, stairwells, and elevators through vacuuming and carpet extraction.
  • Support room attendants by cleaning and assisting with guest rooms as needed.
  • Communicate with the Front Office staff regarding any housekeeping delays or issues and make necessary changes to room status.
  • Fill out work order tickets as needed and ensure unacceptable rooms are not released back into inventory until issues are addressed.
  • Ensure open lines of communication with the house porter and collaborate effectively with other team members.
  • Ensure the work area is clean and organized at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain daily paperwork related to housekeeping inspections and tasks.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures for the housekeeping department in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper and/or Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the supervisor to support the overall operations of the housekeeping department.
