About The Position

This position is a floating Rooms Division Assistant Manager that will float between any Rooms Division department that is in need of additional support from an Assistant Manager level. There is no set time frame of how long this position will stay in a particular department. This position could be placed in any of the following departments within Rooms Division: Front Desk, Housekeeping, Guest Services, Club Lounge, Reservations, PBX, or Concierge.

Requirements

  • Able to communicate well both verbally and written.
  • Reading and counting is essential.
  • Must be able to coach council and develop employees
  • Must work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Good to excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • College graduate or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a Rooms Division Manager In Training role or a Rooms Division Assistant Manager role is preferred
  • Computer efficient in both Excel and Word is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily ownership and operational execution of the any of the Rooms Division department that they have been assigned to, at that particular time.
  • Oversee the day to day operation in areas relating to any of the Rooms Division departments and to administer the Supervision of all the staff in the assigned department in conjunction with the Department Head of that department
  • Assist in general inventories by taking inventory for items needed in the assigned department, recording all stock and maintaining control of all issuing items and also the routine purchasing of items
  • Assure that the assigned department operates according to the Core Values, Policies and procedures set forth by The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort
  • Directs and assures the completion of all of the assigned department’s tasks assigned to its employees while maintaining the highest standards.
  • Utilize the various software systems to ensure all tasks are being completed in a timely manner and pass along information to all staff as appropriate
  • Assist guests as needed and handle all guest related issues to resolve them
  • Basic knowledge of resort information communicated to all staff each morning/day via a Pre-Shift meeting with all staff
  • Establishes and maintains a safe working environment according to OSHA regulations that would protect both the employee and coworkers.
  • Follows directions and performs tasks with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team is imperative; set up and organize workstation with designated supplies and equipment.
  • Replenish supplies and equipment as needed during the shift.
  • Report any faulty equipment, linen shortages, maintenance needs, safely hazards and other problems immediately
  • Must be able to motivate by example either on the floor or group environment.
  • Able to coach and train team to perform at a Forbes Travel Guide 5 star level for each position
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • All other duties, as assigned
