About The Position

The JW Marriott Nashville Hotel offers the ideal location for leisure, business and meeting guests in the heart of downtown Nashville, adjacent to the state-of-the-art Music City Center. The first-to-market JW Marriott property includes 533 guestrooms, inclusive of 37 suites, along with a broad array of amenities. The 33-story hotel features 50,000 square feet of indoor function space, an expansive 10,000 square-foot outdoor pool and lounging deck overlooking the city skyline, as well as a 15,000 square foot event lawn.

Requirements

Knowledge of the basic functions of food operations
Knowledge of all liquor laws and regulations concerning service of alcoholic beverages
Working knowledge of acceptable standards of sanitation and proper chemical usage
Ability to perform basic math skills
Ability to handle money and make correct change
Comprehension of POS system
Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment

Responsibilities

Become familiar with all menu items, wine, and spirits.
Take and deliver food and beverage orders to guests and ensure correct and prompt delivery.
Enter order into computer system to request food preparation.
Observe guests to respond if additional service is required.
Prepare check and deliver to guests when finished.
Clear, clean, reset, and maintain station during shift.
Pick up guest trays from room.
Follow all proper cash, credit card, and room charge procedures.
Follow all proper check control procedures.
Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
