About The Position

The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, bathrooms, and assigned public areas to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that meets resort standards. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to providing exceptional service.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience required; hotel or resort housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Ability to clean multiple guest rooms per shift while maintaining established quality standards.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout an entire work shift.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as business demands require.
  • Basic ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude when interacting with guests and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Clean assigned guest rooms, suites, and bathrooms according to resort standards and established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Make beds with clean linens and replace towels and bathroom amenities daily.
  • Dust all furniture, fixtures, baseboards, windowsills, and decorative items.
  • Vacuum carpets and rugs; sweep and mop hard surface flooring as assigned.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, tubs, showers, mirrors, countertops, and fixtures.
  • Remove trash and replace wastebasket liners.
  • Replenish guest supplies, including toiletries, coffee supplies, cups, tissues, laundry bags, and informational materials.
  • Clean mirrors, windows, doors, glass surfaces, and other room fixtures.
  • Remove used dishes, trays, glassware, and other guest service items from rooms.
  • Inspect closets and replenish hangers, laundry bags, and other required items.
  • Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, damaged furniture, or missing items to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests within the scope of the position.
  • Maintain housekeeping carts with required linens, cleaning supplies, and amenities throughout the shift.
  • Safely handle and properly use cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions and resort safety procedures.
  • Maintain accountability for assigned keys and immediately report any lost or missing keys.
  • Return all lost and found items to the Housekeeping Department following established procedures.
  • Update room status and communicate completed rooms to supervisors in a timely manner.
  • Return to assigned rooms as requested to complete additional cleaning or replace missing items.
  • Participate in deep cleaning and preventive maintenance cleaning projects as assigned.
  • Follow all resort safety, sanitation, and security procedures.
  • Attend required departmental meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform other housekeeping-related duties as assigned.
