The Roof Loader loads, unloads, transports, and positions building materials at residential and commercial job sites. Working closely with drivers, the role loads materials onto trucks and manually or mechanically unloads them onto rooftops, including through conveyor systems when trained and certified. The position requires careful handling of materials, accurate order and inventory verification, and protection of customer property while delivering timely, professional service to roofing contractors. The work is primarily outdoors and on rooftops, with exposure to varying weather, loud machinery, sloped roof surfaces, and significant heights. The role requires proper use of personal protective equipment, including a harness, hard hat, and gloves, and strict compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards. Work is typically Monday through Friday with early starts and may include overtime or weekend shifts based on delivery schedules and customer needs. Frequent local travel to customer locations is required; occasional overnight travel, typically under 10%, may be needed to support nearby branches or storm and emergency relief efforts.
