About The Position

As a rolling operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating all rolling mills related to rolling strip products. This includes selecting appropriate rolls to produce the required shape and finish for products, performing quality checks using various measuring devices to ensure products meet internal and customer specifications, and completing all required paperwork. You will also be responsible for training other operators, performing safety and quality checks on equipment, and conducting required preventive and other maintenance. The role requires the ability to perform multiple functions daily and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer functions for data entry purposes.
  • Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and organizational skills.
  • Able to fluently read/write English without assistance.
  • Must be a US Person (facility is ITAR regulated).
  • Ability to repetitively walk, stand, bend, stoop, push/pull, lift, grasp/feel, see, talk, hear, and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to work around metal powders and nickels.
  • Ability to wear a respirator while conducting job duties.
  • Ability to work around and on industrial equipment.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment (e.g., forklift, scissor lift, front-end loader, payloader).
  • Ability to ascend and descend steep stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate all rolling mills in the department.

  • Complete all required paperwork.
  • Perform training for other operators, as needed.
  • Perform all safety and quality checks on the equipment and perform required preventive maintenance and other maintenance as required.
  • Perform multiple functions on a daily basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
