About The Position

LeachGarner is seeking a skilled Rolling Mill Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate is an experienced machine operator who can independently set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot rolling mill equipment while producing high-quality metal stock to precise thickness and tolerance specifications. This position is responsible for performing intermediate flat stock gauge reduction operations, including roll changes, material handling, measuring, recording, trimming, and quality inspections with minimal supervision. Requirements

  • Previous experience as a machine operator
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong math and measurement skills
  • Ability to read work instructions and process documentation
  • Experience with micrometers, calipers, or similar tools
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work independently
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Stand and move throughout 8-10 hour shifts
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Push, pull, bend, reach, stoop, and crouch regularly
  • Perform repetitive tasks and visual quality inspections
  • Ability to lift 70 pounds repeatedly throughout a shift utilizing safe lifting practices

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate precision rolling mill equipment
  • Calibrate, clean, and prepare machinery for production runs
  • Adjust machine settings and perform roll changeovers
  • Handle, load, and feed raw materials safely
  • Measure and inspect products using precision measuring instruments
  • Conduct machine operation checks and troubleshooting
  • Maintain production records and material tracking
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Perform other tasks as needed to further our company's goals and uphold our commitments
