Asphalt Roller Operator - Paving - Richmond
About The Position
Operate a self-propelled Roller with either steel drums or solid rubber wheels used for compacting hot mix asphalt. Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all federal, local, state and company safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task. Rides on platform of machine and moves lever, pedals, or throttles to control and guide machine. Must be able to perform daily checks on equipment (i.e., hydraulic fluid level, greasing, oil levels). Use hand tools such as hand shovel, wrench, and screwdriver. Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License with transportation to and from job sites.
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma preferred.
- Previous heavy highway construction experience preferred.
- Knowledge of compacting procedures dealing with different asphalt mixes.
