About The Position

This position seeks to maintain consumable inventories and aid in our 5S housekeeping efforts and ready makeready materials as needed. The Roll Tender takes direction from the VP of manufacturing and works a 12-hour shift on a 2-2-3 schedule.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Strong mechanical aptitude
Good mathematical skills
Ability to take coaching well and communicates respectfully with others
Promote positive teamwork culture
Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with team and during shift transition
Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing/warehouse environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture
Frequent standing, stooping
Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs.)

Responsibilities

Readies all make-ready material as required, such as mounting plates, glue pads, etc., and gathers said materials at the press for the next make-ready BEFORE the make-ready begins.
Maintains press roller and cylinders in inventory by keeping new rollers in a ready state behind assigned presses and assures used rollers are reworked in a timely fashion.
Maintains bearing inventories for all rollers used within the pressroom.
Maintains plant cleanliness through assigned cleaning projects.
Maintains the solvent, glue, and oil areas in a safe and orderly fashion.
Maintains all waste and oil products safely and in proper containment, ensuring all waste is packaged properly for pick up.
Maintains an orderly, clean, and efficient space in the warehouse for inventorying new and used consumables.
Changes glue totes when required.
Helps press crews in obtaining consumables when required.
Actively engages in the Pregis apprenticeship program to ensure continuous improvement of self and company.
Ensures compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations.
Ensures the maintenance of departmental housekeeping standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
