About The Position

Nucor Steel – Jackson is seeking an electrician to promote safety as the company’s #1 value while ensuring consistency and reliability in mill operations. The successful candidate will be motivated to learn and find solutions for safety, quality, and production processes. The role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and automation equipment, as well as improving mill reliability. The electrician must initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

At least 5 years of industrial electrical maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC software and hardware.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as needed.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or greater in electrical technology or a similar program.
ABB AC/DC drive experience.
Experience with Function Block programming language.
Familiarity with or prior training in NFPA 70E Electrical Safety.
Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic controls.
Overhead crane maintenance experience.
Medium-voltage switchgear experience.
