About The Position
Plan and instruct classes in rock climbing. Provide participants with pertinent information, efficient service and instruct all classes within the guidelines of the Association to maintain the quality of the programs. Demonstrate a commitment to Y of Central Maryland core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of job performance.
Requirements
- Knowledge of safety rules for program area
- Successful completion of the Y of Central Maryland Belay training within 30 days of hire
- Demonstrate good communication skills
- Display an engaging personality enabling him/her to relate well to participants
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of one year of rock climbing/belay experience
Responsibilities
- Ability to individually lead a class
- Respond to safety and emergency situations
- Motivate and educate members
- Set up, move and store class equipment
- Develop effective interpersonal relationships with children, parents and other adults as required for program area
