About The Position

The Robotics Lead will lead onsite execution of a robotics data collection pilot using I2RT YAM bimanual robotic arms in Palo Alto, California. The role coaches operators, ensures adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety practices, troubleshoots execution issues, and coordinates with client stakeholders. The role does not own staffing schedules or inventory management.

This is a 100% onsite contract role scheduled for 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. The pilot is expected to last at least two weeks, with a potential extension through year-end and beyond. The start date is ASAP. Compensation is $50 per hour. Candidates must be authorized to work onsite in the United States.

Welocalize provides multilingual content transformation services and training data solutions for machine-learning applications. New employees must complete live video identity verification and provide photos of selected identification documents within their first three days of employment as part of work-authorization verification.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience leading robotic teleoperation and/or HRI data collection.
• Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills in laboratory or field environments.
• Comfort driving consistency, safety, and quality in repetitive workflows.
• Must be authorized to work onsite in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily execution and station readiness, enforcing SOPs, quality standards, and safety protocols.
• Coach operators on teleoperation and human-robot interaction (HRI) execution, providing immediate refreshers and corrective guidance.
• Monitor live sessions and data quality, perform first-level troubleshooting, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Maintain concise daily notes and issue trackers, and communicate blockers, risks, and needs to client teams.
• Contribute to SOP and checklist improvements based on observations.
• Use client-provided equipment, SOPs, examples, and hands-on training to align the team on best practices.
