We are currently seeking a Robotics Field Technician II / Trimble Operator. The Robotics Field Technician II executes layout and field data collection on active construction projects, operating the Trimble Robotic Total Station (RTS), HP SitePrint, laser scanner, and sewer camera. The technician puts coordinated model data onto the deck and captures field conditions back into the model, acting as the on-site technical link between what is designed and what is built. Travel is required for this position and will be mainly in the Orlando area initially.

Requirements

Operate the Trimble Robotic Total Station (RTS), HP SitePrint, laser scanner, and sewer camera.
Execute layout and field data collection on active construction projects.
Put coordinated model data onto the deck and capture field conditions back into the model.
Act as the on-site technical link between what is designed and what is built.
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs (instrument cases, tripods, targets) across active construction sites.
Stand and walk 8+ hours on concrete, uneven deck, and congested work areas.
Climb stairs and ladders across multi-level structures; work near leading edges under site fall-protection requirements.
Repeated kneeling, crouching, and bending for point marking.
Sustained outdoor work in Central Florida heat and humidity.
Visual acuity (with correction) sufficient for prism tracking, mark verification, and screen use in direct sunlight.
Maintain full PPE compliance and continuous site awareness on active construction sites.

Nice To Haves

Technician II will eventually run the Trimble RTS solo, to the department accuracy standard, and trains on laser scanning, sewer camera, and HP SitePrint; output is reviewed and approved by the site lead.

Responsibilities

Independently set up the Trimble RTS, run control checks, and lay out points to the department accuracy standard.
Lay out above-slab and overhead work — penetrations, hangers, wall openings, duct straps, and pipe routing.
Re-establish disturbed control (for example, batter boards) as needed.
Prepare the floor and operate the HP SitePrint printer for automated layout.
Verify printed layout against control before trades build from it.
Capture laser scans and complete field registration in FieldLink; export for handoff to the support function.
Offer a courtesy on-site review of scan findings with the superintendent.
Run sewer camera inspections and mark up stub-outs for pre-pour verification and turnover documentation.
Hold layout to the department standard: sleeves and penetrations within 1/8", hangers within 3/8".
Backcheck output against the coordinated model; points failing backcheck do not count toward production.
Submit output for review and approval by the site lead.
Deliver inspection and scan data to the support function per department standards.
Confirm the work area is released and field-ready before layout begins.
Maintain full PPE compliance and continuous site awareness on active construction sites.
