About The Position

As part of Forvia’s North American Automation COE, the Robotics Engineer will support the development, validation, and deployment of advanced automation solutions across our manufacturing facilities. This role focuses heavily on robotics process design, feasibility, and supplier collaboration—particularly within high-volume seating assembly and material handling environments. This role will operate in two phases: Phase 1 (Year 1): Technology evaluation, process validation, and concept development. Phase 2 (2027+): Deployment and support of automation solutions across plants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • 3–7 years of experience in robotics, automation, or manufacturing engineering
  • Experience with industrial robots (ABB, Fanuc, etc.)
  • Background in high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Experience working with automation suppliers or integrators
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship of any kind, now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in automotive assembly (seating or similar high-volume products)
  • Knowledge of EOAT design, Cycle time optimization, Basic automation/controls concepts
  • Familiarity with CAD tools (CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine robotic process concepts for assembly and material handling applications
  • Define requirements for Robotic systems, End-of-arm tooling (EOAT), and Cycle time and efficiency optimization
  • Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and proof-of-concept validation
  • Collaborate with suppliers and integrators to evaluate and improve solutions
  • Contribute to standardization of automation solutions across plants
  • Work closely with automation vendors and integrators to define system specifications
  • Support technical evaluations, testing, and validation of supplier deliverables
  • Contribute to supplier selection in partnership with purchasing teams
  • Support implementation of robotic systems across manufacturing plants
  • Assist with launch activities, troubleshooting, and optimization
  • Ensure adherence to defined standards and performance targets
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams
  • Drive improvements in cycle time, efficiency, and process reliability
  • Share best practices and lessons learned across the global network
