About The Position

The Robotic Welder A operates a welding robot, performs all-position welding, and uses hand and air tools as needed. The role may also operate material-handling equipment, perform routine maintenance, and replenish parts through Kan Baan and visual triggers. The employee supports 5S and continuous-improvement efforts while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency, and learns multiple welding processes across different jobs. The role requires following authorized instructions for robot operation, verifying weld location and size against print specifications, and operating welding equipment as directed by a supervisor. The employee records downtime, labor, and job data accurately, maintains a clean work area, and may perform other departmental or plant jobs as assigned by supervision. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Candidates need qualifying welding experience, technical-college education, company welding-course completion, or equivalent training; must have held the “A” Welder position for at least 75 days; must pass the welder certification test and hold a stamp; and must successfully complete internal robot training. Prior manufacturing experience is beneficial. The work involves lifting, standing and other physical activity, exposure to common manufacturing hazards, and use of welding and shop equipment. Required protective equipment includes hearing protection, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes with metatarsal protection, a face shield or goggles, a welding helmet, and gloves.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Equivalent of one year of acceptable welding experience, one year of technical college, completion of the Company welding course, or equivalent training.
Must have held the “A” Welder position for at least 75 days.
Must pass the welder certification test and have a stamp.
Must successfully pass the internal robot training course.
Good written and spoken command of English.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to set up and operate welding machines.
Ability to read and understand prints, bills of material, ARI, and safety notices.
Ability to complete the physical essential functions of the job, including regularly lifting or moving up to 10 pounds and frequently up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand regularly and occasionally walk, sit, climb, stoop, crouch, reach, and handle materials.
Depth perception and peripheral vision.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
Equivalent of one year of acceptable welding experience or satisfactory completion of the Company welding course.

Responsibilities

Operate the welding robot according to authorized instructions.

Perform other jobs within the department or plant as required by supervision.
