About The Position

This vacancy is for the afternoon shift. The Robotic Technician will perform maintenance and repair work, monitor assembly processes to ensure quality specifications are met, and troubleshoot assembly issues. Responsibilities include maintaining spare parts inventory, documenting equipment changes, solving maintenance problems with minimal production interruption, and participating in the Preventative Maintenance Program. The role also involves documenting work orders, participating in technology improvements, upgrading skills, making recommendations for equipment efficiency and cost reduction, advising management on potential problems, preparing safety and operation procedures, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and assisting in training new hires and apprentices. Support may also be provided to other departments as required.

Requirements

  • Perform all maintenance and repair work in either the plant or grounds.
  • Assure all assembly quality specifications are met by continuously monitoring the assembly processes on the equipment assigned.
  • Troubleshoot all aspects of the assembly process as required.
  • Maintain spare parts and components inventory at appropriate levels. Inform the tool crib attendant of low levels or shortage of parts or components in stock.
  • Maintain up to date documentation of equipment. This includes documenting changes and alterations made to all equipment.
  • Solve maintenance related problems with minimal interruption to production.
  • Actively participate in the Preventative Maintenance Program and down time reduction process. This includes following the PMP schedule and completing PMP checklists.
  • Prepare a list of problems encountered during the shift and other necessary reports.
  • Document work orders in the MVP system daily.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of latest technologies to improve productivity and/or quality.
  • Participate in training to upgrade skills and knowledge to meet changing technologies, customer, government and health and safety requirements.
  • Make recommendations to improve equipment efficiency and reduce costs. This includes manufacturing, repairs and the installations of parts, components, services, and equipment.
  • Advise the Manager of any potential problems and offer solutions.
  • Actively participate in the preparation of safety and operation procedures.
  • Maintain clean and safe working conditions.
  • Assist in the training and development of new hires and apprentices.
  • Provide support to the Welding Support Department, Facilities Department and Press/Toolroom as required.
