Position Summary The Robotic Welder is a full-time salaried position which operates and supports automated welding systems to produce safe, accurate, and high-quality welded components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for setting up robotic welding cells, loading and positioning parts, monitoring weld performance, inspecting finished work, and making routine adjustments to maintain production and quality standards. Experience with FANUC robotic welding systems is strongly preferred. Mandatory 5+ years of experience in welding PLUS an additional 2+ years in Robotic Welding.

Requirements

  • Candidates MUST have at least 5+ years of experience in welding PLUS 2+ years of experience in Robotic Welding (Mandatory)
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training in welding, robotics, automation, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of welding or metal fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience operating, setting up, teaching, or troubleshooting robotic welding equipment; FANUC robotic welding experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of GMAW/MIG welding processes, weld parameters, wire-feed systems, shielding gases, and welding consumables.
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, work instructions, and inspection requirements.
  • Experience using basic measuring and inspection tools such as tape measures, squares, fillet gauges, and calipers.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to identify routine equipment, fixture, torch, and weld-quality issues.
  • Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in a production team.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand safety procedures, production documentation, and work instructions in English required.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods (8+ hours).
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. independently.
  • Must pass initial and ongoing physical or occupational health screenings, as required for the position.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and welding protection when performing manual weld work.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, crouching, and handling of parts or materials required.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for loading fixtures, adjusting equipment, and inspecting welds.
  • Ability to tolerate noise, heat, welding fumes, sparks, and dust in a manufacturing environment.
  • Visual acuity to read drawings and measuring tools and to identify weld defects and equipment conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training in welding, robotics, automation, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of welding or metal fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • FANUC robotic welding experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, set up, and monitor robotic welding cells, preferably FANUC systems, in accordance with approved work instructions and production schedules.
  • Load, unload, position, and secure components in fixtures to ensure proper fit-up, alignment, and repeatable weld quality.
  • Select approved weld programs and make authorized adjustments to robot positions, weld paths, wire feed speed, voltage, travel speed, and other operating parameters.
  • Monitor weld performance and inspect completed parts for weld size, penetration, appearance, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with drawings and quality requirements.
  • Perform minor manual weld touch-ups, grinding, cleaning, and rework when required and qualified.
  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, work orders, and specifications to confirm material, joint, and process requirements.
  • Troubleshoot routine alarms, wire-feeding issues, torch alignment, consumable wear, fixture problems, and other basic cell interruptions; escalate complex equipment concerns to maintenance or supervision.
  • Complete required production and quality documentation, perform routine cell cleaning and preventive maintenance, and maintain a safe, organized work area in accordance with company procedures.
