About The Position

As a Roadway Programs Technician 2 with the Department of Transportation, you will play an important part in keeping county maintenance operations efficient and well supported. You will help organize information, track materials, and assist with financial and planning needs. Your work will support smooth operations and informed decision making. This position offers a strong path for professional growth within our county maintenance programs. This position supports county maintenance operations by helping coordinate purchases, track materials, and gather data for planning and budgeting within Chester County. You will play an important role in keeping information organized and ensuring resources are available.

Requirements

  • One year as a Roadway Programs Technician 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment, and an Associate's Degree in the field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or closely related program
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions

Responsibilities

  • Manage orders, bids, and material availability for maintenance projects
  • Monitor stockpiles, maintain records, and support SAP inventory processes
  • Gather data for budgeting, work plans, and performance reports
  • Help evaluate maintenance activities and prepare charts, graphs, and reports
  • Perform purchases involving equipment, fuel, services, utilities, and building/grounds maintenance
  • Support other county staff when needed
