About The Position

This position provides guidance and technical leadership for pavement maintenance and preservation across the state. Through your work, you will support quality standards, planning, analysis, and coordination with districts and counties. As a Roadway Programs Manager 1, you will perform the following duties: Technical Guidance: Provide direction on pavement preservation methods, treatments, and program development Policy Development: Create and update maintenance policies, procedures, and technical manuals Program Planning: Forecast needs, support long range planning, and maintain statewide pavement data Coordination Work: Work with districts, counties, and agencies on pavement assessments and program goals Research Support: Review practices, analyze data, and contribute to studies that improve pavement strategies Stakeholder Liaison: Represent the department on committees and respond to technical inquiries.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a Roadway Programs Technician Supervisor or Roadway Programs Specialist or one year experience as a Roadway Programs Coordinator (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Two years of professional experience in the analysis, development and implementation of methods and techniques used in a roadway maintenance management system and a bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or in a civil engineering related discipline
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Meet the PA residency requirement
  • Be able to perform essential job functions
