About The Position
Parrish & Partners is seeking a Roadway Engineer for our Raleigh, NC office. The individual should enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and possess the communication skills necessary to coordinate with staff and other design disciplines. This person will work with staff on various transportation improvement projects including interstate/interchanges, roadway widening, bridge replacements, and new location projects.
Requirements
- BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited curriculum
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 8+ years’ experience in the field of civil engineering specializing in roadway design for NCDOT and local municipalities
- Proficiency with AASHTO and NCDOT roadway design guidelines, standards and specifications
- Proficiency using OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, and GEOPAK/Corridor Modeling
- NCDOT highway design experience
- Project management experience with NCDOT projects
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Responsibilities
- Collecting and analyzing project data
- Leading or assisting in the design and development of roadway plans, specifications, design calculations, and technical documents
- Calculating quantities and developing cost estimates
- Producing a complete plan set
- Working with other design disciplines
