About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Roadway Design Engineer to join their growing Mobility team in Houston, TX. This role involves leading and managing highway and roadway projects, ensuring quality engineering work, client satisfaction, and project profitability. The position offers an opportunity for leadership and growth within the Arcadis Mobility Business Line, focusing on both complex urban freeway and rural highway projects. Hybrid work is available, requiring physical location within driving distance of the office.

Requirements

8+ years of progressive highway (TxDOT) design experience, with at least 3 years of roadway design lead experience on TxDOT projects
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
Texas PE
TxDOT precertification
Proficient in MicroStation and Open Roads Tools
Experience working in and leading large multi-disciplinary teams
Excellent, clear, and concise oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, resources, and presentations

Mentoring of EIT’s and young PE’s
Extensive, demonstrated experience working on a variety of TxDOT projects (urban & rural)
Design-Build PM experience
Active participation in regional and/or national professional association

Responsibilities

Direct the development of final design construction plans for highway and roadway projects including design of all associated infrastructure for state and local government entities
Lead, manage, and perform assignments to take 30 percent schematic design plans through preliminary and final design.
Perform work involving the preparation of roadway and highway design using local (State, County, or City) or AASHTO standards while developing roadway plan & profile sheets, typical sections, estimates and associated required roadway details
Develop project scopes and budgets, interfacing with and maintenance of clients, mentoring and development of junior staff and design/drafters, and development of project plans and schedules
Assist as needed on other projects assigned and work with other Arcadis offices as needed
