About The Position

As a Roadway Design Engineer, you will apply engineering principles, technical expertise, and sound judgment to the planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects under the mentorship of senior engineers and project managers. You will support roadway, highway, complete streets, and multimodal transportation designs from concept through final design, including geometric layouts, roadway alignments, grading, drainage coordination, maintenance of traffic plans, and construction documentation. You will perform engineering analyses, prepare technical reports and design calculations, develop plans and specifications, and help ensure deliverables meet federal, state, and local standards, including TxDOT guidelines. With increasing experience, you will take greater ownership of design tasks, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in client and stakeholder interactions, support schedules and budgets, and contribute to quality control. The position offers opportunities to build professional judgment and technical capabilities and progress toward becoming a technical resource and project leader. The role operates between office and field environments. It routinely involves standard office equipment and may occasionally involve exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazards, atmospheric conditions, or bodies of water, depending on project requirements. Physical demands include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, and hearing; occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling; and occasional company vehicle operation and lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 35 pounds. Applicable pre-employment substance screening and background checks are required. Consor describes its benefits as including career development and training, PTO and holidays, flexible scheduling, parental leave, eligible hybrid or remote work options, health and wellness offerings, life and disability coverage, a 401(k) with company match, and community events.
